Bosnia-Herzegovina successfully took down Qatar in a thrilling battle in Seattle which has secured Bosnia’s spot in the round of 32 knockout stages.

Bosnia started the match by playing an aggressive style of football while Qatar played a defensive based start which cause Qatar to concede a goal at the 29th minute from the foot of Alajbegovic. Five minutes later Dzeko booted a ball that reflected off of Abunada which led to an own goal.

After the attack from Bosnia, Qatar regained some momentum and scored their own goal at the 42nd minute to bring the score to 2-1 at Half.

There were some exciting moments in the second half, but none quite as exciting as the goal scored by Mahmic at the 80th minute where after barely holding possession was able to put the nail in the coffin and score Bosnia’s 3rd goal.

With this win from the Bosnian side, it means that they will most likely be facing the USMNT, who has looked solid in their first two group stage games.

Bosnia-Herzegovina coach Sergej Barbarez told reporters “I think we are confident enough to do that and to face anyone and I’m really looking forward to every single game here and I’m really happy to be here for an additional seven days in the USA and we’ll see what comes of it.”

“All I can tell you is that all of this is a bonus for us. We will be extremely relieved and we will try to take on any team that comes our way. We will try to create problems and of course win the game. That’s our goal.

This is Bosnia’s second world cup, and their second ever win at a World Cup. Qualifying for the round of 32 is a big achievement for this Bosnian team who look to upset which ever team they end up facing.
